BS5169 covers air receivers of 3 classes, Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3
BS5169 has been around for a very long time, is tried and
tested and proven to meet the required safety requirements of
storing compressed air within the limits of that code. We can CE mark
pressure vesselsl built to BS5169.
Many air receivers imported today with CE marks have far inferior design
and build specifications to BS5169. Despite incredibly thin
material thicknesses, nozzles sitting on punched holes the shell with a
fillet weld around, there are local European design codes that enable
them to be CE marked.
